In April 2026, an elderly man from Palm Beach County reported his debit card lost; the last time he had used it was at an Aldi supermarket in Jupiter. Security camera footage from the self-checkout register showed the woman in line behind him getting his attention and then taking the card while he was distracted.

An investigation revealed that, later that day, the stolen debit card withdrew money from an ATM; police believe that the defendant memorized the card owner’s PIN when he entered it at the cash register at Aldi. The security camera at the ATM showed a tattoo on the hand of the woman who made the transaction. This led to the arrest of the defendant.

After her arrest in connection with the stolen ATM card, the continuing investigation linked her to other financial crimes. She is now also facing charges for allegedly stealing checks and tampering with them. Several checks that seemed to have been altered were deposited in accounts belonging to the defendant. Prosecutors believe that the defendant stole the checks from envelopes in mailboxes as the account holders were sending them in the mail. They also believe that, on at least one occasion, she stole a blank check from the home office of an elderly person when she visited him in his condominium unit.
